My research is mostly focused on the design of MAC, routing and transport protocols for Cognitive Radio Networks and 5G Networks, where these protocols learn and coexist with TV white spaces and LTE/WiFi environment.

"Cluster-based MAC Protocol Design for Cognitive Radio Ad-hoc Network"

With the swift expansion of wireless technologies, demand for radio spectrum is continuously mounting. Cognitive radio practices an open spectrum allocation technique, which can ensure efficient handling of the frequency bands. This project aims to develop an efficient cluster model for cognitive radio ad-hoc networks. The clustering scheme anticipates to maintain set of free common channels in every cluster, which allows smooth shifting among control channels.

"On-Demand Routing Protocol for Cluster-Based Cognitive Radio Ad-Hoc Network"

An on-demand routing protocol for cluster-based cognitive radio ad-hoc network is focused in the project. In this routing protocol, relaying nodes are the cluster-heads and the forwarding nodes. Moreover, the routing protocol is defined as a weighted graph problem, where delay has been considered as the performance metric of the routing protocol. To calculate the weight of a link, three types of delay are considered, namely switching delay, back-off delay and queuing delay. Thus, to ensure faster data delivery to the destination, the proposed protocol selects the routing path that provides the least cumulative link weights.

"Vehicle-2-Vehicle MAC Protocol for CR-VANET"

It is anticipated that CR-enabled vehicular network (CR-V ANET) enriches communication efficiency on existing vehicular networks (VANETs). This project fovuses to develop a vehicle-2-vehicle MAC protocol for CR-VANET in multu-obj A framework for multi-agent based intelligent traffic system is also highlighted in the project.

" Sensor Search Algorithms for Sensing as a Service for The Internet of Things"

The sensors and related data streams can be clustered physically or virtually, which raises the challenge of searching and selecting the right sensors for a query in an efficient and effective way. This research plans for a context-aware sensor search, selection and ranking model.

AUTOMATA AND THEORY OF COMPUTATION (CSE 417)


This module introduces the theory of computation through a set of abstract machines that serve as models for computation. The topics that will be covered in this course include that of finite automata (DFA, NFA), regular expressions, minimization of DFA, equivalences of DFA and NFA, regular expressions, context free grammar, Push down automata, Chomsky normal form and Turing machine. The course also looks at the halting problem of TM, Turing-recognizable and Turing-acceptable languages.

This course presents the fundamental concepts and techniques of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Now a day, AI has become a popular and established area of computer science, where it aims to create intelligent system (software and hardware) to perform tasks, which would be considered as if human, did them. Complex real world problems such as web search, speech recognition, face recognition, machine translation, autonomous driving, and automatic scheduling can be solved using AI. Many of the research discoveries have now reached the point of industrial application and products. However the goal of emulating human intelligence has not been reached and many stimulating and challenging problems remain.

DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CSE 303)


This course should give the students a solid foundation about Databases and Database Management Systems. Although different kinds of databases will be discussed, the main focus of this course is on relational databases. Students should gain an understanding of relational algebra, which will then be used to understanding the underpinnings of SQL. The course will also cover topics related to database design, optimization, and techniques to handle concurrency. Students will be required to deliver a software project of appreciable complexity to demonstrate their understanding of the topics and their application.
